The Human Resources Staff (SSDM) of the Indonesian National Police (INP) gave extraordinary posthumous promotions (KPLB) to the Nagara Batin Way Kanan Sector Police Chief Lusiyanto, Second Brigadier Petrus Apriyanto and First Brigadier M Ghalib Surya Ganta, who died while raiding a cockfight in Way Kanan, Lampung.
The fatal shooting took place in Karang Manik Village, Negara Batin District, Way Kanan Regency, Lampung on Monday (3/17/2025) at 16.50 WIB. The three were shot in the chest and head when they were about to take firm action against cockfighting gambling.
The letter of the decision was delivered directly by the Head of the Personnel Care Bureau of the SSDM Indonesian National Police (INP) Brigadier General Budhi Herdi Susianto.
Herdi himself attended the funeral of First Brigadier M Ghalib Surya Ganta in Lampung as he delivered the letter.
The funeral ceremony began with a salvo of shots fired into the air. The ceremony was led directly by the Deputy Chief of Lampung Regional Police, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan.
The body of Ghalib was buried in the Way Kandis Public Cemetery (TPU), Bandar Lampung. He was buried next to his father.
Ghalib was the second child of his family. His father passed away exactly a month ago.
