inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated the Integrated Services Building and National Neuroscience Institute at the Mahar Mardjono National Brain Center Hospital (RSPON), Jakarta, Tuesday (26/8/2025).
In his remarks, President Prabowo said the hospital not only functions as a health service center, but also as a place for education and research, especially for specialist doctors in the field of nerves and brain.
"This hospital is not only a service center, but also a center for education and research. I have a special pride because I happened to know prof. Mahar Mardjono," said President Prabowo.
He hopes that the presence of an integrated hospital can overcome the problem of shortages of doctors, specialists, and paramedics that are currently common throughout the world, including in Europe and America.
Therefore, he emphasized the need for hard work and utilizing all the nation's capabilities to provide the best health services for all Indonesian people.
On the same occasion, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin said that RSPON Mahar Mardjono has three main tasks.
First, to provide the best healthcare services so that it can become a reference not only for the Indonesian people, but also for international patients.
Second, to develop research and education in the field of neuroscience with the support of international collaboration, including with the National Institute of Health (NIH) of the United States.
"The final task is that this hospital must also ensure that its knowledge is not only kept in Jakarta, but also spread to 34 provinces and 514 districts/cities," explained the Minister of Health.
With this inauguration, the government hopes that RSPON Mahar Mardjono will further strengthen its role as a national center for neuroscience services, research, and education, and be able to produce new breakthroughs in the treatment of nerve and brain diseases.
