President Prabowo Subianto received the highest honorary award of the "Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour" from the French Government, which was given directly by French President Emmanuel Macron at the Military Academy (Akmil) Magelang, Central Java, Thursday (5/29/2025).
Based on the report of Antaranews, the award was given after Prabowo and Macron inspected troops during a welcoming ceremony at Akmil Magelang.
During the award ceremony, the French delegation pinned a badge on President Prabowo's left chest.
After that, Macron put a red sash around Prabowo's neck. The two were seen hugging and shaking hands, followed by a group photo.
The "Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour" award is the highest award in France for military or civilians who have made significant contributions to the country.
It is known that President Prabowo accompanied President Macron to visit Akmil Magelang to review the language laboratory, as well as military education and training, then the visit continued to Borobudur Temple as one of the wonders of the world owned by Indonesia.
The series of activities in Magelang marked the end of Macron's official visit to Indonesia from 27-29 May 2025. Indonesia is one of President Macron's state visit countries in the Indo-Pacific region, after Vietnam. After his visit to Indonesia, Macron continued his visit to Singapore.
