inp.polri.go.id - Pangkal Pinang. Chief of Bangka Belitung Island's Regional Police, Pol. General Inspector Anang Syarif, led the drowning of thousands of mufflers confiscated by the Directorate of Traffic Corps of Babel Island in the waters of Ketawai, Central Bangka. Thousands of cannabies are formed into ships and helicopters which aim to become rompons while in the sea. Babel Island's Chief of Regional Police explained that this brong or racing muffler was drowned in the Ketawai sea to be used as fish clumps to preserve the underwater ecosystem. The two-star general explained that Water Police, Bangka Belitung Regional Police's Traffic Corps along with the Central Bangka Regency Government carried out planting coral reefs in Ketawai Waters, Central Bangka which was intended as a form of accountability to the community. His party carried out raids on over 4,000 brong muffler that were confiscated and then the mufflers were assembled into the shape of a helicopter and the ship was then sunk. "The advantage is that it is a new habitat for fish in the Ketawai region so that they could breed in that location. It is also intended as an additional tourist attraction for divers by seeing the shape of ships and planes and motorbikes as tourist attractions for divers," Explained the Chief of Regional Police in Babel Island. "Let us work together with the community and fishermen to maintain the location. Don't let the location gets exploited with fish bombs, of course it will damage coral reefs, destroying their habitat," explained Chief of Regional Police in Babel island. The two-star general asked the community not to use nets because the nets would damage the locations where these coral reefs were planted. For the community, please take advantage of this location for fishing and other tours " If God willing, in the next 6 months the location will be crowded with fish and all could enjoy it," said Chief of Regional Police in Babel Island.
