Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo and Prime Minister of Timor Leste Taur Matan Ruak have agreed to resolve the remaining two segments of their land border, namely the Noel Besi-Citrana segment and the Bidjael Sunan Oben segment, on Monday (13/2/23). 

President Joko Widodo underlined the significance of this settlement, noting that it will not only facilitate future maritime negotiations but also spur the development of the National Border Post (PLBN) in Oepoli, East Nusa Tenggara.

He expressed his appreciation for the recent initiatives in land connectivity, including the Kupang-Dili bus route, which can promote trade, tourism, and people-to-people contacts to strengthen the bonds of the two nations.

The president emphasized the importance of reducing logistics costs for sea transportation to promote more cost-effective business activities. He said that it was a critical step for both countries to increase trade and investment opportunities and improve the economy.
