Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo has officially named Nawawi Pomolango, KPK's deputy chairman, as the acting chairman, succeeding Firli Bahuri, temporarily suspended over extortion allegations. "President Joko Widodo signed the Presidential Decree, temporarily dismissing KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri, and concurrently appointed Nawawi Pomolango as the Acting Chairman of the KPK," announced Ari Dwipayana, the Special Presidential Staff Coordinator, in a statement on Friday. The decree, numbered 116 and dated 24 November 2023, was signed by President Jokowi at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport upon his return from West Kalimantan. Ari Dwipayana reiterated that the KPK law necessitates the temporary suspension of the chairman when facing criminal charges. He clarified that one of the existing KPK leaders would assume Firli Bahuri's role, currently under investigation for alleged extortion involving former Agriculture Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo.
