President Prabowo Subianto on Wednesday (31/12/2025) praised the Indonesian Military (TNI) and Indonesian National Police (Polri) for their role in post-disaster recovery following flash floods in South Tapanuli, North Sumatra, during a visit to evacuation centers in Batang Toru.

“Thank you to all personnel who continue to work on the ground for the people,” he said while receiving a briefing from soldiers at an evacuation post in Batuhula Village, as reported by antaranews.com.

The President reviewed recovery efforts, including emergency shelters, logistics distribution, and infrastructure restoration, before meeting evacuees and local volunteers. He later inspected a temporary Bailey bridge connecting affected areas, underscoring the government’s commitment to restoring mobility and public services.

President Prabowo decided to spend New Year’s Eve near the disaster site to show solidarity with flood victims and ensure coordination among central and regional authorities. He was accompanied by senior ministers, military leaders, and North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution during the visit.
