Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto and Peruvian President Dina Boluarte discussed various topics during their meeting at the Palacio de Gobierno in Lima, Peru, on Thursday. 

Key issues included the completion of a comprehensive economic partnership agreement (CEPA) and collaboration in combating narcotics.

“We aim to finalize the CEPA within the next six months, with the signing to occur during President Boluarte’s visit to Indonesia,” President Prabowo said after the meeting, according to antaranews.com on Friday (15/11/2024).

The leaders also emphasized the importance of stability and peace in the Pacific region, acknowledging their shared position as part of the Pacific community. Both agreed to expand economic and cultural exchanges, including increasing access for Peruvian products to the Indonesian market.

“We have decided to open our markets to Peruvian products, strengthening bilateral and multilateral relations,” President Prabowo added, noting Indonesia's commitment to supporting Peru's engagement with ASEAN.

The meeting marked the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations. President Prabowo received a state welcome upon his arrival at the Palacio de Gobierno at 2 pm local time.  

President Prabowo also obtained Grand Collar de la Orden El Sol del Peru, the highest distinction awarded by the government of Peru that is is typically reserved for heads of state, monarchs, or individuals of extraordinary international significance as a mark of Peru's gratitude and recognition of their contributions to the nation or to fostering international relations.
