inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of Riau Regional Police went to Meranti Island Regency to handle the wildfire issue.

The Meranti Island Sub-regional Police, Superintendent Kurnia Setyawan explains that the units from Riau Regional Police was sent by Riau Regional Police Special Criminal Investigation Director, Senior Superintendent Nasriadi.

The team was dispatched to handle the wildfire situation at the location and tasked to investigate the cause of the wildfire.

Several days ago, Meranti Island, particularly the Tanjung Kedabu Village was ravaged by wildfire,

Kurnia says that the fire fortunately has been extinguished, however they still need to ensure the fire was completely extinguished.

On the other hand, the Sub-directorate Chief of Riau Regional Police Special Criminal Investigation Directorate, Police Senior Inspector Nasruddin conveys his gratitude to all personnel who worked hard in extinguishing the fire.

“We all can see that they have given their all, even sir Kurnia went directly to the location to help his personnel extinguishing the fire,” commended Nasruddin.

Nasruddin then states that Riau Regional Police Chief and the Special Criminal Investigation Director will come to Meranti Island to oversee the situation.
