Inp.polri.go.id - Banda Aceh.  National lifter Rizki Juniansyah shattered multiple records to win the gold medal in the men's 89 kilogram weightlifting event at the 2024 National Sports Week (PON) XXI in Aceh-North Sumatra on Saturday (7/9/2024).. 

Competing at GOR Seuramoe stadium in, he lifted a total of 360 kilograms, breaking the previous record of 337 kilograms held by Muhammad Zul Ilmi.

Rizki set new national records in both the snatch and clean and jerk categories. He lifted 155 kilograms in the snatch and 187 kilograms in the clean and jerk, surpassing both of Zul Ilmi's previous records.

"I’m very happy and proud. Breaking records in the snatch, clean and jerk, and total weight in the 89 kilogram class is a huge accomplishment," he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.

The silver medal went to Joko Dwi Suprianto from West Java with a total of 313 kilograms, while Mohamad Najib from Central Java earned bronze with a total of 309 kilograms.

Seven participants competed in the event, including athletes from Aceh, East Java, Riau, and East Kalimantan.
