Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Senior Superintendent Sumardji, the Indonesian national football team manager, has assured the safety of Japanese supporters attending the 2026 World Cup qualifying match between Indonesia and Japan at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium scheduled on Friday.
Approximately 3,000 Japanese supporters are expected to attend the game, according to antaranews.com.
Manager Sumardji said on Tuesday (12/11/2024) that security arrangements have been specially tailored, including designated entry points and a separate seating area to ensure the safety of Japanese supporters.
"Together with the Secretary General, we met with representatives from the Japanese federation to agree on special accommodations for their supporters,” he explained.
Addressing recent FIFA sanctions imposed on Indonesia’s team due to a delayed entry in a previous match against China, Chief Sumardji confirmed that these will not affect the players' performance against Japan or Saudi Arabia.
