inp.polri.go.id – Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives appreciates the steps taken by the Metro Jaya Police Chief, Inspector General Fadil Imran, who applied restorative justice to Nyoman Edi (33), the suspect for editing his profile hoax on Wikipedia. The Deputy Chairman of Commission III of Indonesian House of Representatives, Ahmad Sahroni, assessed that the decision of Fadil Imran is wise and shows the correct implementation of restorative justice. “We have those kind of challanges with cool heads and with the principle of restorative justice. The Metro Police who forgive the person is a good example of how to face criticism,” said Ahmad Sahroni, Sunday (7/31). He said that the restorative justice is the correct step in handling this kind of case, and it has to start from the internal of the police. “Restorative justice should have begun from the mind and the hearts of the police, especially the higher ups, so that they could become the prime example for their personnel,” continued Sahroni. The Metro Jaya Police Chief, Inspector General Fadil Imran, reportedly have met with the one who insults him, Nyoman Edi (33), by editing Fadil’s profile in Wikipedia. Inspector General Fadil Imran forgave Nyoman when the two met. “From the start, I actually took those kind of things lightly, because I did not felt insulted at all,” said Fadil Imran in a video that was released Kapolda Metro Jaya official Instagram account. “For me, that is already part of the risk being a public official. Especially in handling cases that is fact-based to find the truth. These kind things are not something new for me. It is not a really big deal, really,” said the Police Chief.
