Minister of Social Affairs  Saifullah Yusuf said the adminission of students for Community School, known locally as Sekolah Rakya,t is fully based on verified data from Statistics Indonesia (BPS), combined with AI-powered talent DNA testing to map students’ potential from the outset.

“Sekolah Rakyat does not open public registration; selection starts from the national socio-economic database managed by BPS,” he said on Monday (12/1/2026), as quoted by antaranews.com.

MInister Saifullah made the statement during the inauguration of 166 Sekolah Rakyat locations in Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan. The schools targeted children from the poorest households, with candidates verified directly by social workers and local governments.

The AI-based talent DNA test is used to identify students’ strengths in areas such as STEM, social sciences, languages, and public service, allowing a personalized, non-academic learning approach. The boarding-school system ensures 24-hour supervision, nutrition, and health services.
