Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Seven of the eight missing crew members from the Surya Bahari Rawasaban fishing boat have been found alive after the vessel sank near Bokor Island, close to Dapur Island in South Thousand Islands District early Tuesday, officials said.
“Seven victims have been found, and one person remains missing,” said Jakarta Search and Resecue (SAR_ Office Head Desiana Kartika Bahari on Wednesday (8/10/2025). “All survivors were rescued in good condition.”
The survivors were identified as Wahyudin (38), the boat’s captain, along with his crew, Imron (23), Juli, Kartani (30), Wawan (40), Kacung (35), and Mamat (35).
Desiana confirmed that the incident occurred due to an accident at sea.
“We received the report at around 10 am Tuesday and immediately deployed search and rescue teams,” she said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
Authorities continue to search for the remaining missing fisherman with joint SAR, police, and local rescue teams operating around the waters of Bokor Island.
