Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The North Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police have formed a joint team to investigate a bomb threat targeting North Jakarta Intercultural School (NJIS) in Kelapa Gading, early Wednesday morning (8/10/2025).
The team involves the North Jakarta Police, the Tangerang Sub-regional Police, and the Cyber Directorate of the Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional , officials confirmed.
“We’ve established a joint team to uncover the perpetrator behind this threat,” said Jakarta Utara Police Chief Senior SUperintendentl Erick Frendriz. “We’re tracing the phone number and checking any link to similar threats in Tangerang.”
A Gegana bomb squad from the Metro Jaya Police Mobile Brigade (Brimob) unit immediately conducted a full sweep of the campus, but no explosives were found.
Police said the threat came through a message claiming that a bomb had been planted and demanding US$30,000 in bitcoin ransom.
Authorities assured that all teaching activities at NJIS have resumed safely and urged the public to remain calm as the investigation continues.
