South Sumatra Police Secured a Fake Police Officer who Went Viral in Social Media

inp.polri.go.id – The South Sumatra Police managed to secure a fraud wearing a uniform with the rank of Police Commissioner which went viral on social media. According to the data obtained from the authorities, it is known that the man is from Ogan Street, Lorong Pelita, Bukit Lama Village, IB I Subdistrict, Palembang. Currently, the man has been detained at the IB II Palembang Police. The man, identified as Bayu S, admitted that he was born in 1983. When he was being examined at the police station, Bayu wore a Mobile Brigade uniform with the rank of brigadier. The Head of Public Relations of South Sumatra Police, Commissioner Supriadi said the police moved quickly after finding out from a viral video that there is a man wearing the police uniform. "The man was secured by members of the Ilir Barat II Police on Tuesday (4/10) at around 21:00 WIB," said the Head of Public Relations of the South Sumatra Police, Friday (7/10). The Head of Public Relations of the South Sumatra Police explained that members of the Ilir Barat II Police arrested the perpetrators in the Agung R. Soeprapto street area. As for the motive, the Head of Public Relations of the South Sumatra Police said that they are still investigating the man. "Still under investigation, we have secured the perpetrator for further examination, not only that but we will take the perpetrator to Bhayangkara M Hasan Hospital for a psychological test," explained the Head of Public Relations of the South Sumatra Police.
