inp.polri.go.id - South Tangerang. The South Tangerang Sub-regional Police uncovers another drug case as part of their effort in realizing the Asta Cita program of preventing and eradicating drugs.

The Head of South Tangerang Sub-regional Police, Superintendent Victor Inkiriwang says that in this drug bust, his party has seized a total of 40.2 kg methamphetamine.

“This time we have successfully revealed a drug case with the total evidence seized of 40.2 kg meth and three suspects secured,” says Victor on Tuesday (11/19/2024).

Other than securing three suspects, police also listed two suspects with the initials of S and PW into the wanted list. According to him, suspects have been operating in Greater Jakarta, Sumatera, and Sulawesi other than in South Tangerang.

“The point is we are not going to stop here in busting these drug operations. We will continue and ensure that the people of South Tangerang do not fall into the trap of drug abuse,” says Victor.

On the other hand, the Head of the Drug Criminal Investigation Unit, Police Senior Inspector Bachtiar Noprianto says the meth was stored in a minibus which was placed in the 4-door cabin and rear trunk of the car. This mode indicates that the suspects are part of the Sumatra-Java network.

"The modus operandi used was to distribute crystal methamphetamine narcotics through car delivery services across the provinces of Sumatra and Java," said Bachtiar.

The perpetrators were charged with Article 114 paragraph (2) in conjunction with 132 paragraph (1) or Article 112 paragraph (2) in conjunction with 132 paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with the threat of the death penalty, life imprisonment or a minimum of six years and a maximum of 20 years in prison.
