inp.polri.go.id - Semarang. The Semarang Sub-regional Police Criminal Investigation Unit is investigating the death of a young man from Kendal Regency with the initials Y (25), who allegedly died due to abuse at a rehabilitation center in Semarang City, Central Java.

Semarang Sub-regional Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head, Superintendent Andika Dharma Sena, said that the case was under investigation. "We are still investigating the case, so far 12 people have been arrested," he said on Tuesday (3/4/2025).

However, he did not explain in more detail the roles of the 12 people who were arrested. 

Meanwhile, from the information obtained, the incident began when victim Y was picked up at his home in Kendal by several rehabilitation center officers at the request of his family on Sunday (3/2/2025).

The victim is suspected of being depressed and had previously undergone rehabilitation at a shelter located in the Tembalang area, Semarang City.

On Monday (3/3) early morning, the victim was unconscious, allegedly due to abuse. The victim was rushed to Wongsonegoro Hospital, Semarang, but unfortunately he was already beyond saving. The victim is suspected of experiencing abuse while at the rehabilitation center.
