Inp.polri.go.id - Tangerang. The Tangerang Sub-regional Police in Banten have stepped in to cover the medical expenses of  a robbery victim who suffered injuries to her mouth and teeth after being violently robbed.

"This is part of our commitment to care for victims of violent crimes. We are helping ease the burden on the victim’s family by covering her treatment and surgery," said Tangerang Deputy Police Chief Superintendent Christian Aer on Friday (6/6/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

The victim, identified as Ismiarti (46), required surgery following the attack, which occurred when she was dragged off her motorcycle by the suspect on Jalan Otonom, Cikupa.

Tangerang Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head Senior Inspector Arief N Yusuf added that the suspect, identified as ZA (27), was arrested at his home and confessed to the crime. Police also seized the motorbike used in the robbery.

Suspect ZA has been charged under the Criminal Code for violent theft, which carries a penalty of over five years’ imprisonment.
