The Chief of Indonesian National Police Mention the Role of Interfaith Leaders in Helping Accelerate Vaccination in Labuan Bajo

In this vaccination, the Commander and Chief of Indonesian National Police also held a dialogue with interfaith leaders in the West Manggarai region, NTT, to discuss several things to support the NTT region, especially Labuan Bajo, to be better in the future.

"Today, I along with the Commander of Indonesian National Armed Forces and the High-Rank Executives of the Indonesian National Armed Forces-Polri Headquarters had the opportunity to hear directly related to the matters and hopes of interfaith leaders to support and make NTT ready to become a super-priority destination area and promote economic growth in NTT, especially in West Manggarai," said Sigit.

He also expressed his gratitude for interfaith leaders who have supported the acceleration of vaccination in the Labuan Bajo area, West Manggarai. The Chief of Indonesian National Police said that vaccination in the West Manggarai area had reached 70 per cent from the data obtained.

"This vaccine is important to increase immunity from Covid-19 attacks," said Sigit.

With 70 per cent of the population being vaccinated in the West Manggarai region, Sigit said it is an essential capital for the West Manggarai region, especially Labuan Bajo, because the government has determined that Labuan Bajo is one of the super-priority destinations.

However, he saw that in West Manggarai, NTT, almost all people were very enthusiastic about participating in vaccination activities. This, of course, can happen with cooperation between the local government, Commander of Indonesian National Armed Forces-Polri, volunteers and, of course, the participation of interfaith leaders who support and disseminate vaccinations to the community.

"This vaccine is important to increase immunity and immunity from Covid-19 attacks," said Sigit.

In a year and a half of the Covid-19 pandemic, Sigit said the Labuan Bajo area, which had been prepared to become a super-priority destination, was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, it is essential to prove that Labuan Bajo is ready to accept tourist arrivals from both foreign and domestic.

As for the readiness to accept the arrival of tourists, Sigit continued while maintaining the acceleration of vaccination and remaining obedient to health protocols. This can all be done with cooperation between the Regional Government, Indonesian National Armed Forces-Indonesian National Police, interfaith leaders and the community.

"If we maintain control of the Covid number and there are international event activities, we are sure that this will have an impact on economic growth, we can recover," said the Head Former of the Indonesian National Police-Criminal Investigation Agency.

The Chief former of Banten Regional Police also continued that another key for the outside world to believe that Indonesia is a safe place to do activities and travel is to maintain unity and integrity and show that Indonesia is a friendly nation to welcome foreign and domestic tourists.

"Although our country consists of various ethnic groups, religions, languages, we can show that Indonesia is safe. This is because the people are friendly, and we can do all that if we maintain unity and integrity. This will happen if the handling of Covid is good, security
and order community is running well is conducive. The people are kind and accepting so that we can make NTT, especially Labuan Bajo, ready to welcome international and domestic tourists," said Sigit.

On this occasion, the Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces and the Chief of the Indonesian National Police also said hello virtually to see firsthand the mass vaccination process.
