inp.polri.go.id – The West Sulawesi Regional Police (Polda Sulbar) immediately moved quickly to carry out various humanitarian missions after the earthquake rocked Mamuju Regency and its surroundings. An earthquake measuring 5.8 M that occurred yesterday afternoon resulted in thousands of residents choosing to evacuate to safe places by setting up tents as temporary shelters. The West Sulawesi Regional Police responded to the incident by deploying a medical health team and security personnel in residential areas to establish a post and field kitchen at the refugee center which distributes food aid every day. Polda Sulbar's quick action received an appreciation from the public, one of whom was Markus (29) who took refuge at the Manakarra Mamuju Stadium. He revealed that he had received food assistance and health checks. "We have had breakfast, which was provided at the police kitchen car. We have also take our vitamins and our health have also been checked," said Markus. In a different place, Sri Rahayu (35) said the same thing. After the earthquake, she and her family immediately evacuated and set up a tent in the evacuation center. "After the earthquake, we immediately ran here, and last night spent the night here. For the food problem and others, thank God that the police are here in giving us an assistance from the government ," said Sri.
