West Papua Police Chief (Kapolda Pabar) Inspector General Tornagogo Sihombing said that in general the province was under control ahead of the opening of the W20. A total of 595 joint TNI/Polri personnel have been deployed on Tuesday (7/6) to secure the side events of G-20, the W20 and Y20, in the capital city of West Papua. The Kapolda invites the community and various parties in this area to support the W20 and Y20 side events. "We should be proud because Indonesia has been trusted to host the G-20, which before the G-20 was held in Bali, there were W20 and Y20 side events in West Papua," said the Kapolda. In addition to deploying security forces, his party also carries out large-scale routine patrols to ensure the security of the area ahead of the arrival of the W20 delegation on Wednesday (7/6). The Kapolda ensured that before and after the W20 event, the police would routinely carry out large-scale patrols in Manokwari Regency safe and conducive. The W20 will take place from Wednesday to June 10, 2020, while Youth-20 (Y20) will take place from June 17 to 19, 2022 in Manokwari, West Papua.
