inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian Police Strategic Studies Institute (Lemkapi) said that the formation of the Indonesian National Police (INP) Corruption Eradication Corps could bolster the effort in the fight against corruption that is currently being intensified by the government.

"The public has high hopes for the eradication and prevention of corruption to be stronger to ensure proper use of state money and ensure fast state development," said Lemkapi Executive Director Edi Hasibuan on Friday (10/18/2024).

Director Edi saw that although the arrest of corruptors had been intensive, they still damaged the state finances heavily.

"We hope that the new corps can give their best in their performance and their impact can be directly felt by the community," said Director Edi.

He said that the new corps will be stronger than the Directorate of Corruption Criminal Investigation which lies under the Criminal Investigation Agency.

"The new corps will be led by a two-star General (Inspector General) who is directly working under the Chief of Police. This makes their work to be faster and stronger than the Directorate of Corruption Criminal Investigation," said Director Edi.

The provisions related to the formation of the Corruption Eradication Corps are stated in the insert of Article 20A which states, "The Corruption Eradication Corps, abbreviated as Kortastipidkor, is an element implementing the main task of eradicating corruption under the Chief of Police."
