inp.polri.go.id – The high burden of fuel subsidies in the state budget has made the government currently considering increasing the price of subsidized fuel. Moreover, so far, it is suspected that many subsidized fuel allocations are actually consumed by those who actually do not deserve the subsidy.
When fuel prices increase on the world market, the burden of subsidies borne by the state budget also increases. Not to mention the exchange rate of the dollar against the rupiah which tends to rise.
For the Police, the issue of subsidized fuel is also often breeds criminal actions. They buy subsidized fuel, stockpile it or resell it to industries, who doesn’t deserve the subsidized fuel.
Although there has been many cases of subsidized fuel been completed by the police, the issue is still very much happening in the society.
Communications expert, Rahnat Edi Irawan appreciates the steps taken by the Police to continue to take action against those who misused the fuel subsidy.
"Ahead of the increase in subsidized fuel prices, anyone who takes advantage of reselling subsidized fuel to parties who are not entitled to it must be dealt with. Do not seek profit in the midst of the government's difficulties in trying to keep up with the increasingly swollen subsidies," he explained.
