inp.polri.go.id - To maintain national unity and integrity, Jambi Regional Police Chief, Inspector General A. Rachmad Wibowo, reminded Jambi University students to continue to uphold the ideology of Pancasila and unity in diversity.
"I ask that there should be no seeds of hostility at the University of Jambi. Uphold the ideology of Pancasila and the sense of unity in diversity of Indonesia in order to keep us united," explained the Jambi Police Chief, when he became the speaker in the Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) at Jambi University, Wednesday (10/8).
The Jambi Regional Police Chief also conveyed to students the importance of mental revolution. He told them about how Indonesia evolved into a democratic country because of the strength of the young generations.
“I am proud with the students who actively speak their thoughts and ideas,” said the Police Chief.
He said that there are five dangerous ideas that could trigger the division, that is superiority, injustice, vulnerability, distrust, and incapability. Those five things, he said, should not seep in to the students.
“If one of those five seep in to us, it could trigger violence that leads to the severity of the state’s unity. It’s useless for you to go to higher education but all that you did is dividing the country” said the Police Chief.
He also implored the student to uphold the unity in diversity and do not get influenced by foreign ideologies that could negatively affect the unity of the state.
“Thus I stressed to you all, as the next generations of Indonesia, to be able in maintaining the unity of the state,” he hoped.
He also appreciated the students who bravely speak up for the people.
“I know that the students of Jambi University is smart. Often times I found the students who bravely speak up for the people,” concluded the Two-Star General.
