The Mageri Segoro Event of Central Java Regional Police Breaks MURI Record

inp.polri.go.id - Semarang. The launch of the Mageri Segoro of Central Java Regional Police (Polda Jateng Mageri Segoro) event went successfully. The programme that was initiated in Bendono village of Sayung district, Demak regency, was attended by Chief of Central Java Regional Police, Police Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi, Commander of 4th/Diponegoro Military Region, Armed Forces Major General Rudianto, and Central Java Governor, Ganjar Pranowo. During the occasion, Polda Jateng Mageri Segoro broke the national record on mangrove planting, which reached one million trees. The previous record was held by North Sumatra Regional Police, who planted 280,000 mangrove trees. The award was handed over by the Indonesian Record Museum (MURI) to the Chief of Regional Police on the event location. Chief of Central Java Regional Police, Police Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi, said that "mageri segoro" means building living fences in the estuaries or coastlines. The Mageri Segoro is not only limited to mangrove planting but also empowerment of coastal community during the Covid-19 pandemic. "The activity also complimented by Covid-19 vaccination in every Departmental Police under the Regional Police that situated on the coastline. For Bendono, two thousand vaccine doses are prepared today", he explained. . Besides that, Regional Police also conducted social service events to the affected coastal communities. There are 500 packages being distributed to Bendono people. And then, the Central Java Regional Police, through its Water and Air Police Directorate, educates the community on shell cultivation. This education event was conducted on every Departmental Police with Water Police Unit. Related to the Mageri Segoro programme in Bendono, Central Java Regional Police engaged 470 communities and the Regional Leaders Coordination Forum to plant mangrove trees. Ten thousand trees are to be planted in each location. "Now is the shell harvest from our education programme. We conduct this to help the community's economy in mitigating Covid-19 effects. We are launching it on 16 Departmental Police today", he said. Chief of Central Java Regional Police said that the mangrove planting event of Mageri Segoro is hoped to trigger the people to conserve the environment and to maintain the coastline. Meanwhile, Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo admitted that he was in high spirit during the event. The governor said that he rode a bike from his official residence to the Polda Jateng Mageri Segoro event location. The governor said that land subsidence at the northern coast of Java has been critical. Therefore, the initiative of the Chief of Regional Police to plant one million mangrove trees through the Polda Jateng Mageri Segoro programme is really being appreciated. "I rode my bike here at 06.30. When I arrived, I managed my time to go around because I was too early. We are ready to boost this mangrove planting. We are happy because the Local Environmental Agency has found the partner on environmental conservation", he added. Meanwhile, the Commander of the 4th/Diponegoro Military District stated his readiness on in synergy to plant mangroves on the northern coast. The event has been planned from very early by the Chief of Regional Police. "Spontaneously, the Chief of Regional Police called me to plant some mangroves. I was, of course being enthusiastic. In essence, on Mageri Segoro programme, Armed Forces personnel are ready to support it", he concluded.
