The destruction of the evidence was led by the Head of the West Sumatra Police (Kapolda Sumbar), Inspector General Teddy Minahasa P, S.H., S.I.K., M.H., on Wednesday (15/6) at the Bukittinggi Police Headquarters, and attended by the Mayor of Bukittinggi, Erman Safar, Head of the Bukittinggi Police, AKBP Dody Prawiranegara, S.I.K., and Main Officials of the West Sumatra Police (Polda Sumbar). Kapolda Sumbar said that this time, the police terminated the 35 kg of the evedince from the total of 41.4 kg. The other rest will be the samples of evidence in court which have been mutually agreed upon by the investigator, the Public Prosecutor, and the West Sumatra Police. “We can’t do this by ourselves, we also need the participation from the community in eradicating drugs smuggling,” said Kapolda Sumbar. The Two-Star General hopes that all personnel in his ranks will have brilliant achievements in eradicating drugs. "I appreciate the ranks of the Narcotics Investigation Directorate and the Bukittinggi Police in revealing drugs," he said. Finally, he advised all parties to participate in the fight against drug crimes. "We have to work hand in hand in eradicating the drugs smuggling," he concluded. The destruction of 35 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine is the result of the Narcotics Investigation Unit (Satresnarkoba) of the Bukittinggi Police, together with the West Sumatra Police's Narcotics Directorate, in thwarting the 41.4kg of drug smuggling some time ago. The disclosure of 41.4 kg of methamphetamine was the largest disclosure by Polda Sumbar. Kapolda Sumbar explained that of the eight initial suspects, there were still other suspects in pursuit. "There are additional suspects but we have not exposed them and are in the development process," he said.
