Inp.polri.go.id - Bogor. The Indonesian National Police (INP)’s Traffic Corps has prepared four security clusters to manage the anticipated traffic surge during the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year holidays.
“The state is committed to ensuring safe and orderly holiday travel,” Traffic Coprs Chief Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho said during a joint route survey in Megamendung, Bogor, on Thursday (11/12/2025), as cited by antaranews.com.
The four clusters cover toll roads, arterial and alternative routes, ferry ports, and tourism and worship areas. Traffic engineering strategies such as one-way and contraflow schemes will be applied situationally, based on real-time vehicle flow. Ports, including Merak, Bakauheni, and Gilimanuk, will operate under normal, alert, or heavy-traffic scenarios to manage rising passenger volumes.
Toll-road traffic is projected to increase by 12.2 percent, or 2.9 million vehicles departing Jakarta, prompting strengthened operational measures to prevent extended congestion. Police will also coordinate with regional units to manage heavy queues at tourist destinations and ensure security at churches and other worship sites. Extreme weather contingencies have been fully integrated into planning.
