Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The West Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police has uncovered an international drug trafficking network spanning Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and other parts of Asia.
"We have uncovered illegal drug trafficking in the international network across Sumatra," Superintendent Chandra Mata Rohansyah, the West Jakarta Police Head of the Narcotics Investigation Unit, said during a press briefing on Tuesday night (5/11/2024).
Police arrested a suspect linked to this network, though details of the arrest and the suspect’s identity remain undisclosed, according to antaranews.com..
Chief Chandra noted that the amount of drugs seized was substantial for a police precinct, describing it as "fantastic" in scale.
"The exact quantity and details will be provided during the release," he said, confirming that both the suspect and the evidence are in custody at the West Jakarta Police headquarters.
Senior Inspector Retno Jordanus, the West Jakarta Police Deputy Head of Narcotics Investigation r, specified that a large amount of crystal methampetamine was among the seized items.
