Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Meutya Hafid, said that the launch of the National Data Center (PDN) in Cikarang, West Java, might face delays, pushing its operations beyond the planned January start date.
“We’re anticipating possible delays for PDN operations initially set for January,” she explained in her first working meeting with the House of Representatives’ Commission I on Tuesday (5/11/2024).
To address the delay, the ministry is exploring contingency measures.
Minister Meutya noted that the budget for the Temporary National Data Center (PDNS) did notinclude an extension, as they were confident PDN would launch on time. However, with the likely delay, the ministry may request additional funds from Commission I to keep PDNS running.
The PDN, expected to be handed over by developers in late December, will be the first of its kind, while future data center locations will remain undisclosed for security and national interest considerations.
