inp.polri.go.id - West Sumatra. The West Sumatra Regional Police Traffic Directorate will simultaneously conduct Operation Patuh Singgalang 2025 throughout the province.
This operation will last for two weeks, from Monday, July 14 to Sunday, July 27, 2025. This annual activity aims to reduce the number of traffic accidents and raise public awareness of safe and orderly traffic practices.
Enforcement will be carried out selectively, using a persuasive and humane approach, while remaining firm in addressing violations that could potentially endanger safety.
The Director of Traffic for the West Sumatra Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Reza Chairul Akbar, stated that the main focus of this year’s operation is enforcement against visible violations that directly risk causing accidents.
"Our focus is on visible violations, such as motorcyclists not wearing helmets, car drivers not wearing seatbelts, using cell phones while driving, going against traffic, and underage drivers," he explained, as reported by infosumbar on Sunday (7/13/2025).
He further emphasized that law enforcement will be carried out proportionally. Furthermore, education and outreach efforts to the public will be intensified during the operation.
"The main goal is not just to take action, but to raise awareness so that the public will be more concerned about road safety," he explained.
