Yogyakarta Regional Police Chief Leads Roll Call of Operation Patuh Progo

inp.polri.go.id - Yogyakarta. The Yogyakarta Regional Police officially launched "Operation Patuh Progo 2025" with a troop roll call at the Yogyakarta Regional Police Headquarters on Monday (7/14/2025).

Led directly by the Yogyakarta Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Anggoro Sukartono,  this operation will last until July 27, 2025.

Anggoro highlights the increase of 5% in traffic accidents in Yogyakarta in 2024, which reaches 315 cases, where the majority of accident cases were started from traffic law violations. 

It is hoped that the 2025 Operation Patuh Progo will reduce the number of accidents and fatalities by increasing discipline and awareness in traffic.

The operation involved 980 joint personnel, emphasizing an educational, persuasive, and humane approach to building public awareness of traffic laws.

Enforcement efforts will targeting seven priority violations that are frequently encountered and can lead to fatalities in traffic accidents. These include cell phone use while driving, underage driving, carrying more than one passenger, not wearing a SNI helmet or seatbelt, driving under the influence of alcohol, and driving against the flow of traffic.

The Yogyakarta Regional Police Chief advised personnel to prioritize public and personal safety, and to enforce the law in a humane and educational manner to increase compliance.
