Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Apple has committed to building an AirTag vendor factory in Batam, Riau Islands, with an investment of $1 billion (Rp16 trillion), according to Minister for Investment and Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan Roeslani.

“This is the first phase of the investment, and they are fully committed to the construction of the AirTag vendor factory,” he said following a meeting with Apple’s Vice President of Global Policy Nick Amman in Jakarta on Tuesday (7/1/2025).

The factory, expected to be completed by early 2026, will create up to 2,000 jobs.

Minister Rosan added that Apple plans to invite more vendors to Indonesia, increasing the overall investment.

Apple is also in talks with the Ministry of Industry regarding the extension of its Domestic Component Level, or known as TKDN, certification, essential for officially selling the iPhone 16 in Indonesia
