Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian Army Chief of Staff General Maruli Simanjuntak announced an internal evaluation following the arrest of two army soldiers accused in the kidnapping and murder of a bank branch head in August.
The soldiers, identified as Second Corporal FH and Senior Sargeant N, have been detained by the Jakarta Military Police Command.
“We will continue to evaluate internally, especially when incidents like this result in the loss of life,” Chief Maruli said after a closed-door meeting with the House of Representatives (DPR)’ Commission I on Tuesday (16/9/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
He stressed that any soldier proven guilty of crimes, particularly murder, would face strict action, as such acts run contrary to the army’s mission to serve and protect the public.
The Jakarta Military Command revealed that both soldiers were promised Rp 100 million to kidnap the victim, confirming their suspect status and detention.
Police have so far arrested 15 people in connection with the case, including four main suspects, whose victim’s body was discovered in Bekasi, West Java on 21 August 2025.
