Batam Immigration Deports Japanese Man Wanted by Interpol

Inp.polri.go.id - Batam. The Batam Immigration Office deported a Japanese man, YY, listed as a Blue Notice Interpol fugitive.
Samuel Toba, Head of the Batam Immigration Office, said that YY's deportation was through Hang Nadim International Airport in Batam, with a layover at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta before heading to Japan. "YY left Batam on Tuesday, 12 March 2024 with a scheduled flight to Japan at 9.25 pm local time," he said. The Embassy of Japan in Jakarta and the Japanese Consulate in Medan issued his travel permit on 28 February 2024. According to Samuel, YY applied for a Limited Stay Permit Card (KITAS) in July 2021. He worked at PT Waringin Jaya Steel from July 2021 to June 2022. "The KITAS was issued on July 13, 2024, by the North Jakarta Immigration Office. YY wasn't listed as a Blue Notice Interpol fugitive at the time of KITAS application," he said. YY was arrested on 31 January 2024, by the Air and Waters Police of the Barelang City Sub-Regional Police in the waters of Bulan Island, Bulang, Batam.
