Inp.polri.go.id - Bengkulu. The Chief of Bengkulu Regional Police in Bengkulu, Inspector General Armed Wijaya asserted that any police officer found to be non-neutral during the 2024 elections will face dismissal or an early retirement (PTDH).
Imposing sanctions such as dismissal or PTDH represents the most severe penalty for non-neutral members of the Indonesian National Police (Polri), with lighter penalties taking the form of ethical sanctions.
"I have made it clear, for Bengkulu Police personnel, I instruct everyone to remain neutral and not favor any presidential, regional, or legislative candidates," he said on Friday (5/1/2024).
The Police Chief revealed that ongoing monitoring is in place to identify police officers who demonstrate non-neutrality. He urged the public to promptly report any instances of police personnel not remaining neutral to the Bengkulu Police.
"Being non-neutral carries severe consequences; in the code of ethics, the punishment extends to dishonorable discharge," the general said.
