Inp.polri.go.id - Semarang. Investigators from the Central Java Regional Police have questioned 34 witnesses in the case of alleged bullying in the Specialist Doctor Education Program (PPDS) at Diponegoro University’s (Undip) Faculty of Medicine, Semarang.

Senior Superintendent Artanto, the Central Java Police Head of Public Relations, said on Tuesday (17/9/2024) that those interviewed include classmates and the head of the victim’s cohort in the PPDS Anesthesiology program.

“We’ve questioned 34 people, including classmates, cohort leaders, and treasurers,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com..

Chief Artanto said that the testimonies will be analyzed and cross-checked with the data provided by the complainant. The investigation, he assured, will be thorough, transparent, and uphold the presumption of innocence.

The inquiry followed the alleged suicide of the victim, identified as AR, a medical resident at Undip, whose body was discovered in her boarding house in Semarang on 12  August 2024. Her death is suspected to be related to bullying within her program, and her family has lodged a complaint to the Central Java Police on 4 September 4, 2024.
