inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Communication and Information Minister Budi Arie Setiadi assures that the telecommunication network is ready ahead of the 79th Indonesian Independence Day in Nusantara Capital City (IKN).

“We assure that the telecommunication network in IKN is ready ahead of the ceremony. People of East Kalimantan and other regions can follow the ceremony live,” says Minister Budi on Wednesday (8/14/2024).

The government also provides a telecommunication network supported by Telkom as they are the holder of the right of passage and its subsidiaries. In this case, Telkomsel has rehearsed the telecommunication infrastructure in IKN.

The telecommunication network service provider also tested the network connectivity with optic and cellular fiber.

“The availability of telecommunication networks is in line with the IKN city concept of smart city as was stated by President Joko Widodo,” says Minister Budi.

Moreover, other cellular operators have also provided telecommunication service with the available infrastructure, such as the mobile Base Transceiver Station (BTS) prepared to serve several project locations during construction or event.

Minister Budi hopes that the other telecommunication service will migrate gradually to the city.
