inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Communication and Information Minister Budi Arie Setiadi invites digital industry business actors to work together to overcome challenges in the digital transformation agenda.
“Because digital transformation, that we plan to reach the goal of 2045 Golden Indonesia, requires our joint cooperation and dedication, particularly in digital infrastructure, public, government, and digital economic sectors,” says Minister Budi Arie on Wednesday (7/31/2024).
He highlights that developing digital infrastructure is not optional anymore, but has become a necessity and responsibility of government and industry. According to him, Indonesia is still far left behind in digital infrastructure, including in ASEAN.
In internet speed ranking, Indonesia was ranked 10th out of 12th ASEAN countries, with only maximum internet speed of 23 Mbps.
“I always asked Sir Ismail and Sir Wayan to provide regulations that could ease our colleagues from Telkom to invest more and help them improve the bandwidth speed," said Minister Budi Arie.
He hopes that the telecommunication industry could be given a lending hand so that people can enjoy and benefit from higher internet speeds.
