Confiscating Assets Worth of Rp157 Billions, Dittipidkor Bareskrim Polri Named Two Suspects

inp.polri.go.id - Investigators from the Directorate of Corruption Crimes (Dittipidkor) of the Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) of the National Police (Polri) are currently handling cases of alleged corruption regarding the procurement of goods/services for the construction of Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) infrastructure in 2017-2018. In its development, the Dittipidkor Bareskrim Polri has confiscated assets worth of Rp157 billion in this case. Not only that, investigators have also named two people as suspects. The first is from PT JIP, namely the former President Director, AP, and Vice President of Finance and IT of PT JIP, CD. "The total value of asset recovery in the corruption and money laundering in the construction of towers and the procurement of GPON is Rp157,526,802,000," explained the Director of Dittipidkor (Dirtipidkor) of Polri, Brigadier General Cahyono Wibowo, S.I.K., Monday (13/6/2022). He explained that the assets seized were property, plantations, vehicles and cash. According to him, the confiscation also involved Asset Search and Recovery Team (PPA) unit. He also said that the case files for handling corruption cases in the construction of towers and the procurement of GPON infrastructure have now been transferred to the Prosecutor at the Indonesian Attorney General's Office. "Meanwhile, the money laundering case file is in the process of being finishe so it could be transferred immediately to the Public Prosecutor at the Attorney General's Office of the Republic of Indonesia," he concluded. In this case, the two will be charged with Article 2 paragraph (1) and/or Article 3 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999. on the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption.
