Inp.polri.go.id - Manokwari.  The Damai Cartenz Task Force has evacuated the body of Joni Hendra, a civilian fatally shot by an armed criminal group (KKB) in Wandoga Village, Intan Jaya, Central Papua.

“The death of a civilian is a wound for us all. We won’t stop until justice is served,” said Brigadier General Faizal Ramadani, the Commander of the Damai Cartenz Task Force, on Saturday (26/7/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

The evacuation began at 7.30 am local time and concluded an hour later in Timika. Joni’s body was transferred to Mimika Regional Hospital before being flown to his hometown in West Sumatra.

Authorities continue to pursue the perpetrators, believed to be under the command of Apen Kobogau, and are increasing security in high-risk areas.
