Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. The Damai Cartenz Task Force and Papua Regional Police intercepted an arms shipment intended for the Lerimayu Telengen-led armed criminal group (KKB) in Puncak Jaya in Papua.
The operation, conducted from 1 to 7 March 2025, tracked weapons moving from Jayapura to Puncak Jaya.
“This is just the beginning. We will trace all involved parties,” said Damai Cartenz Task Force spokesperson Senior Superintendent Yusuf Sutejo over the weekend.
Head of Damai Cartenz Task Force Brigadier General Dr. Faizal Ramadhani praised the team’s efforts, emphasizing the importance of curbing illegal arms trafficking to maintain security in Papua.
On Thursday, authorities arrested key suspect Yuni Enumbi, 29, in Keerom’s KM 76 area. Two others—driver Yudhi Kalalo and assistant Matius Payokwa—were also detained. Seized evidence included two rifles, four Pindad G2 pistols, 882 rounds of ammunition, and an air rifle with accessories.
Enumbi admitted purchasing the weapons for Rp1.3 billion outside Papua. Investigations continue to uncover the supply network.
