Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia National Police (INP)’s Counterterrorism Special Detachment 88 (Densus 88) has disclosed the roles of three suspected members of the Mujahidin Indonesia Timur (MIT) network.

The trio, , identified as RR, MW, and AS, was arrested in Central Sulawesi on Thursday.

According to Densus 88 spokesperson Senior Superintendent Aswin Siregar, RR acted as a facilitator for new recruits joining the MIT group.

“RR facilitated individuals wishing to join Mujahidin Indonesia Timur for Tadrib Asykari, or military training,” he explained, as quoted by antaranews com on Friday (20/12/2024).

RR reportedly participated in training that included assembling firearms, shooting practice, combat techniques, camouflage, and bomb-making.

MW, another MIT member under Sabar Daeng Koro and Santoso, was responsible for logistics delivery and bomb-making at the Daeng Koro camp in Poso. “MW also carried out an armed attack in Sepe Village, Poso, causing a fatality,” Aswin added.

AS underwent similar training in North Mamuju, focusing on physical endurance, bomb-making, and military tactics. In 2013, AS planned an operation targeting banks in Poso and Parigi and was involved in radical social media groups.
