Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The East Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police have prepared a safe house for  the mother of a woman, who recently died after being set on fire by her husband in Cakung, East Jakarta.

Authorities confirmed that the safe house will protect the woman, identified as M (50) once her medical treatment is completed.

“After medical care, we will provide further services. If she has no place to stay, we will place her in a safe house for protection,” said Assistant Senior Inspector Sri Yatmini, the Head of the Women and Children Protection Unit  at the East Jakarta Police, on Tuesday (23/9/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

She stressed the case falls under gender-based violence, urging hospitals to give the woman the best care. They are also working with social service agencies to provide psychological counseling. 

The man who killed her daughter, identified as MA (29) has been arrested and faces multiple charges, including premeditated murder, domestic violence, and aggravated assault against his wife, identified as  SNC (33). He could face the death penalty or life imprisonment.
