inp.polri.go.id - Surabaya. East Java Regional Police Chief, Pol. Inspector-General Nico Afinta Karo-Karo, with the Surabaya Resort Departemental Police Chief, Pol. Grand Commissioner Akhmad Yusep Gunawan conducted a direct inspection of several Christmas and New Year 2022 Security Posts in Surabaya City, Monday (12/27/2021). In his explanation, the East Java Regional Police Chief said that the Surabaya city security system was different from last 2020, which was carried out in isolation to the Neighbourhood level, given the high spread of Covid-19. The security mechanism in 2022 does not carry out isolation, but restrictions on mobility within the city limits of Surabaya, for this reason, in anticipation of people shifting to Surabaya. This is done to engineer traffic within the city centre to reduce crowds. In securing this time, the Surabaya Resort Departemental Police have involved the reinforcement of 3064 personnel. Furthermore, we have ordered through the Surabaya Resort Departemental Police Chief to give a humanist, preemptive and preventive appeal to all the people of the City of Surabaya not to hold events at hotels or crowded locations New Year's Eve. "Please carry out as appeals according to the Circular (SE) of the Minister of Home Affairs and the Minister of Religion, in order to prevent the transmission of the Omicron variant of Covid-19," added the East Java Regional Police Chief. "For this reason, each regional unit and work unit, please cooperate with public relations, to appeal to the community and optimize the implementation of justice. In addition, on New Year's Eve, we will also strengthen mobility restrictions in Ring 3 (the entry limit for the city of Surabaya), Ring 2 (the main road leading to the city centre) and Ring 1 (city centre and crowded locations), in order to reduce community mobility so that there is no crowding," closed the East Regional Java Police Chief.
