inp.polri.go.id - East Kalimantan. The East Kalimantan Regional Police have confirmed their preparation to take firm action if illegal mining activities are discovered in the Indonesian Capital City (IKN), particularly in Sepaku District, which is included in the IKN delineation area.
This statement was made by the Head of Public Relations of the East Kalimantan Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Yuliyanto, following the discovery of an illegal mining case in Sepaku in 2023.
"Yes, we are monitoring this area specifically in the IKN. If there are any, the East Kalimantan Regional Police will definitely take firm action," he stated, as reported by the mediakaltim website, Tuesday (8/12/2025).
He emphasized that oversight cannot rely solely on the police. The active role of the public is crucial.
"The public must also be proactive in this action. We guarantee their safety, so don't worry. If you see or know anything, report it to us," he said.
Reports can be submitted through the 110 call center or the Complaints and Reporting service at the East Kalimantan Regional Police Headquarters.
