inp.polri.go.id - Yahukimo. The Damai Cartenz Operation Task Force, along with the Yahukimo Sub-regional Police Criminal Investigation Unit, continues to move swiftly to follow up on the brutal attack on teachers and healthcare workers that occurred in Anggruk District in mid-March.
As of Friday (7/11/2025), eight suspected perpetrators have been apprehended in a series of law enforcement operations in Yahukimo Regency and the surrounding area.
The eight arrested perpetrators are known to be part of a criminal group known as the Eden Sawi Yali Battalion, under the command of Ohion Helembo, also known as Bapa Simpan, who is directly affiliated with the Yahukimo Regional Military Command XVI, led by Elkius Kobak.
Of the eight arrested, three have been proven as suspects: Aris Pahabol, DH, and NS. The remaining five are still under investigation.
The Head of Damai Cartenz Operation, Brigadier General Faizal Ramadhani, stated that the handling of this case will continue to be developed to uncover all the perpetrators and their networks.
"We are taking this case seriously. We will process the perpetrators involved firmly and professionally. Acts of violence against teachers and health workers cannot be tolerated because they are symbols of humanity and service," Faizal emphasized.
The joint investigation team is currently conducting an in-depth investigation into the five perpetrators who have been arrested and is continuing to hunt down the remaining members of the armed group strongly suspected of involvement in this barbaric act.
