Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia’s veteran lifter Eko Yuli Irawan captured the bronze medal in the men’s 65kg snatch at the 2025 IWF World Weightlifting Championships in Forde, Norway, after a successful lift of 137 kilograms on Saturday night (4/10/2025).
Eko secured the podium finish on his third attempt after missing his first two lifts at 135kg and 136kg. The 38-year-old lifter now extends his world championship medal tally to nine, including a gold from 2018.
“Eko continues to show incredible consistency and determination at the global stage,” said an official from the Indonesian Weightlifting Federation, as quoted by antaranews.com.
Turkey’s Muhammed Furkan Ozbek claimed gold with a 145kg lift, while Bulgaria’s Ivan Dimov took silver with 137kg on his second attempt.
Eko’s teammate Leonardo Geovani Adventino finished eighth in the same category with a lift of 133kg.
Eko’s medal marked Indonesia’s first podium finish at the ongoing 2025 IWF World Championships, which run from 2 to 11 October 2025.
