Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati announced on Wednesday (4/9/2024) that energy subsidies in the 2025 State Budget Proposal (RAPBN) will decrease from Rp 204.5 trillion to Rp 203.4 trillion, influenced by a revised exchange rate assumption of Rp 16,000 per US dollar.

“The total energy subsidy agreed is Rp 203.4 trillion, down Rp 1.1 trillion from our initial proposal due to the exchange rate change,” she said during a meeting with the House of Representatives (DRP) Budget Committee, as quoted by antaranews.com..

Subsidies for fuel and 3-kilogram LPG will decrease from Rp 114.3 trillion to Rp 113.7 trillion, reflecting adjustments due to the exchange rate.

The Rp 1.1 trillion reduction will cover fuel and electricity compensation payments in 2025. Minister Sri Mulyani added that any remaining payments for Q4 2024 will be settled next year after audits.

The electricity subsidy will drop by Rp 500 billion, from Rp 90.2 trillion to Rp 89.7 trillion.
