Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) negotiated with the Philippine government to exchange the captured fugitive Alice Guo, a former mayor of Bamban, for Indonesia's top narcotics fugitive, Gregor Johann Haas.

"We hope the Philippine government will agree to exchange Alice Guo for Gregor Haas, who remains a high-priority fugitive for the National Narcotics Agency (BNN)," said the INP Head of International Relations Division, Inspector General Krishna Murti, on Wednesday (4/9/2024).

The INP International Relations Division, in cooperation with local police in Jakarta and Bandung, have arrested Guo in Tangerang on Tuesday. She had been on the run, and her capture is part of a broader collaboration with the Philippines, according to antaranews.com.

Gregor Haas, an Australian citizen based in Gili Trawangan, Lombok, was involved in a significant narcotics case in December 2023. He was arrested in Cebu, Philippines, in May 2024, after an Interpol red notice was issued. However, Haas remains detained in the Philippines.

The negotiations for his extradition to Indonesia are ongoing.
